6 May 2008

Hello everybody,

The sun is shining and it is warm! Well it has been, it's cloudy again today but that's only because it's my one day to do something like go to a golf course, which is unlike without rain gear. But none the less, I'm so happy to see sun and to have warmth.

This last week was absolutely fantastic! We had two amies tell us that they want to be baptized in June which was very exciting. Thomas, who's the one of the coolest people I've met in France prayed for the first time in his life, that was very encouraging. And we found some new amis that are sweet! They say that they're Jewish but they absolutely love everything that we teach them, and they understand it just beautifully. They've done some research on the internet, he hasn't mentioned anything untrue but he found some things that typically cause problems with people, such as doctrine that is found in the Book of Abraham, but no, he was like tell me this, we didn't go into it just gave a brief explanation and he said it made sense and of course it's that way.

What a great week it was, I'm so excited for summer and for the work to move in the same direction as the thermometer.

I love you and thank you for your support.

Hello my loved ones,
So the week started a little slow with not a lot happening, which can be rather frustrating, but than Thursday came...We all hustled in to Bordeaux for another Zone Conference and this time we were blessed to be with a General Authority again. Elder Francisco J. Vinas of the First Quorum of the Seventy came and instructed us, it was so cool! He is definitely an inspired man called of God. I learned so much in just a few short hours. He carried the Spirit so strongly with him and had so much love to give to all of us, it was wonderful! It's amazing to think that the Lord calls the most ordinary of people to the most extraordinary things. I've come to realize that the leaders of the Church are so remarkable and so talented because they've always dedicated their lives to the Lord and His work, even before they were called.
After the wonderful Zone Conference the work picked up in Périgueux. We had plenty of rendez-vous to keep us busy and found two new amis. We also saw a little miracle when we were placed in the path of a young woman that I had spoken with two or three previous times, she finally said she'd listen, she now has a copy of the Book of Mormon and is excited to study it, that is why we must always contact everyone, even the juene filles :)
I love you all so much and I hope that you have a wonderful week, thanks for everything.

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well, I am.
But unfortunately not a whole lot happened this week due
to the illness of my companion. We spent almost the
entire last three and a half days inside, I'm sure
I'm getting Cabin Fever now. But I've been able to get
in some extra studies. We had the opportunity to see
Thomas again on Sunday, it went well but unfortunately
he's moving to Sweden soon, that saddens me a touch
but ça va, he's promised to keep contact.
It's odd that February was record warm and record dry,
but now at the end of April it's just cold rainy days!
Why is it that Mother Nature is so confused, why?
Oh well.I just realized that this email is kind of lame,
I apologize forthat, but know that I love you all.

Love,

CONGRATULATIONS!! First and foremost to my beautiful
sister Alyssa Lou who gave birth this last Thursday
to little miss Allie Wahlquist, their third daughter!
I'm so excited to again be an uncle, as most of you
know, I love these little ones todeath. I can't wait
to see Allie in approximately 14 months.
Second Congratulations would go to all of you and this
day of taxes. :)
And finally a congratulations to Trevor Immelman on South
Africa on his first Major and his win at the Masters!
I was sad to miss it, but it wasn't all that difficult
to miss I was busy. As for Tiger, it's too bad he took
second, but he's still the best as you all know, there
are three more majors this year and he'll be looking for
redemption, and his colleague under the Swoosh was the winner.
I'm so happy for all of you, especially for my sister and
her family. This past week was pretty good, nothing
too exciting but pretty good.Elder Walker and I are getting
along well and we're happy.

I wish you all the best of weeks, much love.

Hello my dear family and friends,
Well as for the transfer I'll be staying in Périgueux and getting Elder Walker as my companion. Elder Coull is headed to Manosque.
Wasn't Conference spectacular?! I loved it soo much! I felt so privelaged to stand and sustain President Thomas S. Monson as the Prophet, it was a great experience. I was blessed to be able to watch four of the five sessions this weekend, only missing the very last one. I enjoyed all the talks and all the subjects, it is clear to me that the Lord truly leads His Church through His chosen representives on the Earth. I felt edified and re-energized. I also can tell you that I know that President Thomas S. Monson is truly God's living Prophet and that Elder D. Todd Christofferson is in all reality an Apostle of the Lord.
I hope that you all enjoyed Conference as much as I did, what an awesome blessing it is to be able to listen to a prophet's voice, isn't it a miracle? I know that I definately under appreciated Conference before and how lucky I feel to have it.
In other exciting news it's MASTERS Week! Holy cow! I can't believe it's already here, I remember the last one so vividly in my mind, I'll miss the Azaleas and Dogwoods this year, but I'm expecting full updates.
I love you all very much and I thank you for your support.

Poisson d'Avril!

Holy cow! Time flies super fast! So today is April 1st that is to say that as of today I've officially been a missionary during all 12 months on the calender, on Sunday I hit ten months and this week the transfer already ends. Not to mention that it's already General Conference time this week-end! Wow, the time is very short.
This last week was pretty good, lots of people "gave us the rabbit" it's a French expression, and with all irony on the week, I finally actually ate some rabbit. The weather is starting to warm and the sun has been fighting to come out, we're all quite excited for Monday because President told us that after Conference we can take off our jackets!

As for the excitement of the week...well this last Saturday the 29th of March there was an article in the news paper, about The Mormons...yeah...let's just say that Elder Coull and I were terrified to find our picture on the Front Page! Agh! President is going to eat us alive for this one, but on a brighter note there was also a tiny little article about the missionaries entitle "Chic and Smiling" we did no interviews and answered no questions but I'm not too thrilled about the situation. I think we'll be fine, but Elder Coull and I have been rather nervous for our interviews that are coming up in less than an hour.
Love you all very much,

Elder Miles Marsala
